Prada 的品牌故事完全是醜小鴨與白天鵝故事的翻版，是一個家族與一個女人的故事，是能夠帶給人們嚮往、崇敬感情的故事。1913年Mario Prada兄弟在意大利米蘭開設了一間Prada精品店。因當時美洲與歐洲的商業貿易與交通商旅頻繁，Prada就開始專營皮具和進口商品，Mario Prada遍訪歐洲，選購精美的箱包、飾品以及服裝等供上層社會享用。Prada後來開始製造一些針對旅行的手工皮具產品。但是Prada並沒有多大的名氣，並於70年代，時尚環境變遷，幾近瀕臨破產邊緣。即使是１０多年前，Prada仍然不過是歐洲一個普通的家傳三代、專做手工時裝飾物的小牌子。一切的改變都來自於一個女人，是一個女人將Prada成為今天著名的精品品牌。她就是Miuccia Prada，Prada家族的第三代掌門人，1978年以來，憑藉自己獨特的設計風格與卓越的經營理念，把手提包和鞋子等這些傳統意義上的搭配次要品作為公司的主角，併成功地結合了富有經驗的專業大型製造程序和注重品質的專業化小型作坊的優點，使Prada得到迅速發展壯大。除了推出了風靡一時的尼龍手袋外，1983年推出皮鞋，1989年推出女裝，1994年推出男裝，1998年推出運動裝，其中1992年推出以自己小名兒命名的副線MIU MIU。從皮件、服裝到鞋子、內衣，Prada逐漸成為一個完整的精品王國，版圖也開始拓展到全世界。 Prada同名女香是Prada的首支香氛，它不採用特別的名稱或描述，簡簡單單僅以 Prada 命名，以嵌印於金屬飾版上的天然素材為其識別，重新喚起世人對於傳統香氛工業的期盼。琥珀，飾版上嵌印的首字，則是 Prada 香氛的精髓。
普拉達以製造高級皮革製品起家，上世紀二三十年代已深受歐洲的王公貴族們青睞，但自1958年創業者Mario Prada過世後，Prada便進入一段漫長的低迷時期，使Prada東山再起、成為超人氣品牌的則是Mario Prada的孫女——穆西婭·普拉達（Miuccia Prada）。1978年從事設計工作的穆西婭發明了以尼龍布料的皮包，掀起風潮；於1985年舉辦鞋子發表會，1989年展出女裝，1995年首度推出年輕化男裝，自那以後，時尚界的痴情男女就此進入狂熱的「Prada現象」。

　　到了2000年，普拉達推出了自己的護膚品系列，因簡潔前衛的包裝和高品質而聞名；2004年又打造自己的首款香水，以實際行動加入全球的頂級時裝品牌中出產香水的行列。現在，除了Chanel的No5、 Dior的J'adore、YSL的Opium、Gucci的Gucci Rush和Marc Jacobs等經典香水之外，市場上又增添了Prada命名為「Prada Parfums」的香水了。穆西婭·普拉達本人對於香水的設計青眼有加，她喜歡親自參加香水研製過程，她想讓自己的「美容帝國」沿著傳統和創新的兩個基本理念前行，一直風光無限。
PRADA最令人印象深刻的，莫過於將外表幾近簡單普通的黑色尼龍後背包，變成人人必須備有的熱門配件單品，並且成為街頭巷尾的仿造對象，也順道打響了品牌知名度，所有的時尚名人，PRADA絕對是身上的重點行頭。意大利的皮件是遠近馳名，其優良的打製技術，一直是居於領先地位，而Miuccia Prada就是出生於這樣的生長背景，Prada的創立人Mario Prada，是Miuccia Prada的爺爺，在1913年米藍成立一間專門販售高級皮件的精品店，持續經營到70年代，面對著Hermes、Gucci等對手強敵環伺在側，使 PRADA幾乎瀕臨破產邊緣，就處於這樣的危困時期，Miuccia Prada與其夫婿接掌了這危危可岌的事業，逐漸帶領Prada進入一個前所未有的高峰期。

對於服裝的企圖，Miuccia Prada非常謹慎，直到1989年才推出成衣的處女秀，其後，陸陸續續的推出標榜年輕路線的Miu Miu、休閒運動Prada sport、Granello等支線品牌，接著更在97年曝光了全新的內衣系列，形成線路完整的精品王國，並且拓展到全世界各地，由於在日本，更是造成前所未有的風靡，魅力的確是無懈可擊。

PRADA在2000年推出了護膚系列產品，由於該系列簡潔前衛的包裝設計和品質深受消費者肯定而聞名。經過了四年的精心籌畫，在2004年，PRADA 終於推出了首支同名女香，就像PRADA對於產品的堅持，PRADA同名女香也有著與眾不同的地方。在香水的外包裝特別選用了PRADA服飾中同樣的紡織布料，簡單大方的方形玻璃瓶與直立的金屬瓶蓋形成鮮明的對比，突顯出典型的品牌風格！

出於對傳統香水的敬意，Prada 淡香精奢華版80ml 特別採用了復古懷舊的香水噴喞，使它呈現出高雅復古的魅力風格，甚至在國外Prada專門店，店員還會根據客人的要求刻上特別的名字以表示獨特！

Miuccia Prada的創作視野不停的延續，她希望自己的美容帝國能夠堅持傳統與創新的基本理念，而她也期許這款香水必須能夠代表她「The Classic of Tomorrow」明日的經典的設計哲學！
